What Do You Want In An Attorney Blog?

I intend to remedy the lack of insightful legal blogs on the net. After spending a ton of time researching what's out there...I found three main types of legal blogs.
1. The Self Promoting Legal Blog; wherein an Attorney tries to gather business by sourcing every current news item related to his/her practice area and then asks the reader to contact him/her. While this is understandable, everyone one would like more clients, it has no substance. Self promoting on a blog is boring.
2. The Controversial Legal Blog; wherein Attorneys hides behind the first amendment and bashes everything and anything they can to gain a following. Probably the most effective marketing approach. Everyone loves a good scandal. However, this approach further degrades the public perception of Attorneys. This approach isn't for me. I think "Positive Energy" is the life blood of success. Negativity for the sake of being negative and scandalous will only lead to a sad life.
3. The I have no idea what or why I am doing this Legal Blog; wherein the Attorney is a lot like me. My life is very interesting to me and my work incredibly complex....but I don't really want to Blog online about myself weekly or even daily? Isn't this whole blogging thing incredibly vain? My past response has been yes....I still believe that if you want to find the Lawyer with the biggest Ego....just look for the Lawyer with the Biggest/Best Blog. However, I think it time to at least speak from the heart and see if there is a following for great legal advice, that is not "too" self-promoting, and doesn't try to attract a following through put downs and negativity.

I hope to provide a forum where people with legal problems can gain some insight by a hard working & honest attorney. I will provide as much sound legal advice to my blog followers at no cost. If I don't post a response immediately it is due to the fact that I am not a full time Blogger. Be weary of any legal advice from a "Attorney" who has nothing better to do but Blog all day!
